Abu Dhabi, UAE — 65 hectares. A pedestrian-centric master plan along the inner north coastline near Masdar City, built around a green spine and a network of parks connecting residential neighborhoods.
Situated in the Al Bahya area, close to Masdar City and Abu Dhabi International Airport, the site holds a prominent position in the region, with links to major tourist destinations, and has seen outstanding growth and investment in recent years.
The design’s primary goals include creating lively, pedestrian-friendly neighborhoods with access to public amenities, improving thermal comfort, providing multiple recreational routes, supporting public transportation, enhancing the interface between public and private spaces, and developing a clear hierarchy of public open spaces.
A detailed activity strategy distributes play areas and sports courts throughout the different sections of the project, tailoring each activity to the needs and preferences of its users, while a movement strategy of primary and secondary pathways and a dedicated cycle track ties the neighborhoods together.
